Character Pillar for the month: Citizenship
Please see the full December calendar on the back. It is quite full this month.
Talent Showcase: Lodi Unified School District and the GOT Kids Foundation are putting together a district-wide talent show. Tryouts are January 9th, 4:30 – 8:00 at Bear Creek High School Theater or
January 11th, 4:30 – 8:00 at Tokay High School Theater
There are prizes at both the elementary and secondary level.
Areas of competition include, vocal, instrumental, dance and drama.
Please come to the office for a flyer if you are interested.
Our librarian, Mrs. Silva, could use help on Friday mornings to shelve books and assist students with finding books. Please let the office or Mrs. Silva know if you are available to help on Friday mornings.
Lost & Found: We have quite a collection of sweatshirts and jackets in the cafeteria. Please come look for any missing items.
Community Forums: The state has adopted a new funding formula that impacts schools. The district is holding two informational meetings where parents can give input on the budget.
Monday, Dec. 9th: Bear Creek HS Cafeteria 7:00 – 8:30PM
Thursday, Dec. 12th: District Office Board Room 7:00 – 8:30PM
Sixth grade students who are interested in transferring to a junior high outside of their attendance area must fill out an IDA form prior to February 3, 2013. IDA forms can be found at the junior high schools and the Podesta Ranch office. Transfers are subject to the junior high school administrators’ approval.
There are two more minimum days in December. Dismissal times for all three days are as follows:
Grades 1 – 3: 12:20
Grades 4 – 6: 12:25
TK and K: 11:55 Please note that all TK and K classes come in the morning on minimum days and are dismissed at 11:55.

PTA NEWS AND NOTICES
Bingo for Books was a great success! We had a great turn out! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the event. Thank you to Mr. Baker, Ms. Smith, Ms. Schmeling, Mrs. Weeks, and Mrs. Smith. You guys are phenomenal and we appreciate you coming out and supporting this event.
Our WINTER FUNDRAISER is going full force. All forms and money is due on Dec 3rd. Don’t forget sell 20 items and come to the super exclusive afterschool party we are planning! There will be tons of games, raffles, food, & music; you do not want to miss it!
The BOOK FAIR is coming up! All next week in the library. Look for info to go out soon!
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! MOVIE NITE! More info to follow soon.
MOVIE NITE: An event held in the Multipurpose Room right after school. You need a permission slip to stay. Snacks and water will be provided. This is a FREE event.
